Everything’s Glacial Shine
Everything’s Glacial Shine is the culmination of a seven-year incubation — an improvised album recorded in 2021 and now unfolding as a 13-part sonic poem. An eclectic line-up, the album was recorded with world-renowned Jazz bassist Anthony Cox (Pat Metheny, Joe Lovano, Geri Allen), rootsy and emotive guitarist Toni Lindgren (Reina del Cid, Lissie), berimbau proponent and percussionist Gregory Beyer (Arcomusical, Third Coast Percussion), creative and sensitive woodwind/sax player Nelson Devereaux (Miley Cyrus, Bon Iver), and skilled multi-instrumentalist Andres Crovetti (Cabeza de Chivo). Inspired by a line from Ross Gay’s Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude, the album explores nostalgia and transformation through evolving soundscapes that blur the lines between composition and intuition.
Beginning October 4, 2025, a new track will be released every Friday for 13 weeks, carrying listeners through the end of the year to the full album release on December 31st, 2025. Each track title forms a line in an original poem, inviting the listener to experience the album as both a musical and literary unfolding.
Improvised live in-studio, Everything’s Glacial Shine moves fluidly between intimate duos, textured trios, and expansive ensemble improvisations, evoking the likes of Zakir Hussain, Julian Lage, Edgar Meyer, and other folk and ambient-inspired improvised recordings.
